The grant proceeds will specifically benefit the operation of Zoe’s Place, which provides safe housing, childcare, meal preparation, and allows young mothers to continue their education. Zoe’s Place aids young mothers and their children to break the cycle of poverty, learn meaningful skills, and gain independence. The grant will also benefit the Mobility Mentoring Program that facilitates the pairing of young women with a mentor who helps them with career goals, financial independence, and improving parenting skills.
“Not everyone is fortunate enough to have the available resources needed when a baby is born,” said Kevin J. Lynch, President of the OritaniBank Charitable Foundation and Chairman, President and CEO of Oritani Bank. “We are proud to support Children’s Aid and Family Services and remain in awe of their compassion and constant care towards the less-fortunate.”
“We are very grateful to the OritaniBank Charitable Foundation for its generous and longstanding support of our programs,” said Sara Huisking, Vice President of Development. “Its most recent donation will help Zoe’s Place, a program of Children’s Aid and Family Services that provides housing and support services to pregnant teens and teenage mothers. Thanks to the support of the OritaniBank Charitable Foundation, we are able to provide opportunities for a brighter future to these young women and their children.”
Children’s Aid and Family Services also provides therapeutic foster care; older child adoption; diapers and nutritional formula for low-income families; child care and early education for low-income families; alcohol and drug abuse prevention education and recovery support; care for people with developmental disabilities; and safe, supervised housing and services for teen moms and their babies.
