Township of Washington, NJ January 12, 2011 The OritaniBank Charitable Foundation recently awarded a $10,000 grant to the Greater New Jersey Chapter of the Alzheimers Association, the worlds leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. Oritanis donation coincided with the Annual Northern NJ Regional Walk to End Alzheimers held on Sunday, October 23 at Van Saun Park in Paramus, which raised over $347,000 for the local chapter.
There has never been a greater need to join in the fight against Alzheimers disease and we are particularly thankful for the support we received from OritaniBank Charitable Foundation for our Northern Regional Walk to End Alzheimers, said Ken Zaentz, Vice President of Development of the Alzheimers Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter. Oritanis contribution will help the Alzheimers Association expand vital care and support services to the over 350,000 New Jersey residents coping with the devastating effects of Alzheimers disease, while also contributing to advancing critically-needed research.
Mr. Zaentz and Elaine Winter, Associate Director of the Alzheimers Association, Greater NJ Chapter, presented a plaque to Oritani Bank in appreciation of their grant on November 29. Accepting the honor on behalf of Oritani, Kevin J. Lynch, President of the OritaniBank Charitable Foundation and Chairman, President and CEO of Oritani Bank said. We would like to thank the Alzheimers Association and the participants in this years Walk for their commitment to helping individuals in our communities affected by Alzheimers and to finding new treatments and eventually, a cure.
