Township of Washington, NJ – February 15, 2011 – Oritani Bank’s expansion in New Jersey continues apace with today’s opening of a new branch office in Ramsey at 161 North Franklin Turnpike. The full-service branch will offer a drive up and lobby hours Monday through Saturday, a drive up ATM, safe deposit boxes and a complete line of financial products and services to meet the needs of local consumers and small to mid-sized businesses.
With the addition of the Ramsey branch, Oritani Bank enters its 100th year in business with a total of 23 branch offices in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic Counties. The Ramsey Branch Manager will be Ms. January Bourke and the Assistant Manager will be Ms. Beatrice Vuocolo.
“We look forward to being part of the vibrant Ramsey business community and offering our customers another convenient location with the superior personal service they have come to expect from Oritani Bank,” said Kevin J. Lynch, Chairman, President and CEO of Oritani Bank. “Our upcoming 100th Anniversary is a testament to our sound business model, financial strength and commitment to the communities we serve. Amidst the recent turmoil in the banking industry, we have emerged as the smart choice for those seeking a well-capitalized, stable and profitable community bank.”
As Oritani Bank prepares to celebrate its centennial on March 11, Oritani is in the strongest financial condition in its long history. In June 2010, Oritani became a fully public company, consolidating the bank’s position as one of NJ’s premier community banks and increasing its equity capital by more than $400 million. In addition to the Ramsey branch, in recent years Oritani has opened offices in Emerson, Bergenfield and Jersey City. In 2009, the bank joined an elite group of NJ-based banks with over $1 billion in deposits.
New Ramsey customers will benefit from special promotions on savings and checking accounts. With the arrival of warmer weather in April, Oritani Bank will hold a Grand Opening Celebration to introduce the Ramsey branch to local area residents. Throughout the coming year, Oritani Bank will celebrate its 100th Anniversary with many special events and promotions.
As part of its commitment to the communities it serves, Oritani Bank established the OritaniBank Charitable Foundation in 2007 to assist not-for-profit organizations that help to improve the quality of life for residents in Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic counties. Since its inception in 2007, the Foundation has donated more than $2 million to local charitable organizations.
