Oritani Bank Donates $100,000 Grant to Habitat for Humanity of
Township of Washington, NJ (April 15, 2019) – The OritaniBank Charitable Foundation wishes to announce that the $50,000 grant that was gifted to Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County in August 2018 was recently matched, granting a total of $100,000. At the time of the creation of the first grant, the Foundation agreed to make a second grant of up to $50,000 if Habitat received donations of up to that amount. The entire grant will be used towards building four new affordable homes in the Township of Washington, NJ.
The target date for the completion of all four homes, located on Jefferson Avenue, is June 2019. Currently, all the homes are in the process of being sheet-rocked by teams of dedicated volunteers, with that process to be completed by mid-April. The homes are being built specifically for U.S. veteran families and seniors that qualify through the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency.
“Oritani Bank, along with the OritaniBank Charitable Foundation, is proud to continue to support Habitat for Humanity and all that it does within our community,” said Kevin J. Lynch, President and CEO of Oritani Bank and President of the OritaniBank Charitable Foundation. “We are pleased to know that our donation to Habitat will ultimately benefit Bergen County families and surrounding communities.”
“Oritani Bank has supported Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County since our inception in 1994,” said Jacey Raimondo, Executive Director at Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County. “Their loyal support has been critical to helping us create opportunity for deserving local families to become self-reliant as they fulfill their dream of homeownership.”
