Township of Washington, NJ (August 15, 2018) – Oritani Bank hosted its annual “Christmas in July” children’s food drive from June 25th through August 4th. All 26 Oritani Bank branches accepted donations of non-perishable food items, pet food and monetary donations. This year, Oritani Bank branches collected 1,097 bags of food, $390 in grocery store gift cards and $3,306 in cash donations, which will be matched by the OritaniBank Charitable Foundation.

24th annual food drive exceeds its goals to replenish needed necessities
The items and money collected have been donated to three of the leading providers of emergency food aid to children in northern New Jersey. The Center for Food Action (CFA) received 796 bags of food, $365 in grocery store gift cards and $1,922 cash donations. The Palisades Emergency Residence Corp. (PERC) received 222 bags of food and $1,072. Lastly, St. Peter’s Haven (SPH) received a donation of 79 bags of food, $25 of gift cards and $236. The Ridgefield Park branch collected the most food donations at 152 bags and Park Ridge had the highest amount raised at $330 of cash/gift cards combined.
