June 26, 2007 – Kevin Lynch, president of the OritaniSavingsBank Charitable Foundation, was pleased to present a $10,000 check to James Dugan, Grand Knight of the Mother Seton Council #5427 of the Knights of Columbus in the Township of Washington, for its Annual Fund Drive to aid developmentally disabled children and adults.
The OritaniSavingsBank Charitable Foundation had awarded Council #5427 a grant that would match any donations received by the Council during their annual fund drive to a maximum of $10,000.
The Council reported that this year $8,850 was collected between April 26 and April 29 from people in or driving through the Township of Washington. An additional $1,250 was raised at the K of C Annual Testimonial Dinner in April, and a $1,000 donation was received from the American Legion Post in Rochelle Park. The total raised by the K of C, including the Foundation grant, was $21,100, making this its most successful fund drive ever! The proceeds will be distributed locally to The Felician School for Exceptional Children, ARC of Bergen County, New Concepts for Living, Spectrum for Living, Catholic Community Services, and the New Jersey Special Olympics for their work with developmentally disabled individuals.
The OritaniSavingsBank Charitable Foundation was established earlier this year to assist not-for-profit organizations that help to improve the quality of life for residents of Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic counties.
