Bergen Community College Foundation Awards Dinner,
Announces New $100,000 Scholarship Grant
Township of Washington, NJ November 30, 2011 Oritani Bank received the 2011 Medallion Award of Merit for Corporate Responsibility and Philanthropy at Bergen Community College Foundations 27th Annual Medallion Awards Dinner held at the Rockleigh Country Club on November 18th. A major fundraising event for Bergen Community College, the annual gala recognizes corporations and individuals for their outstanding contributions to the College and Bergen County.
Accepting the honor on behalf of Oritani Bank and the OritaniBank Charitable Foundation, President and CEO Kevin J. Lynch announced that Oritani will award a $100,000 four year grant for scholarships to the Bergen Community College Foundation. Bergen Community College is most pleased by the extraordinary generosity of Oritani Bank and the Oritani Bank Charitable Foundation, said Dr. Jose Adames, Interim President of Bergen Community College. The scholarships will help meritorious and needy students to fulfill their dreams of continuing and completing their higher education goals. Each student has a story unique to their life experiences and these scholarships will permit them to write another chapter in their story of success.
